As part of our Winter Wellness Adult Enrichment Program Series, Goochland Powhatan Community Services is hosting 3 training sessions that empower participants with lifesaving knowledge and practical skills. 

February 18 - 10 Things Your Loved One Wishes You Knew About Their Substance Use (hosted by Mobile Outreach) Learn a science-based approach to support loved ones with compassion, not conflict. Key Takeaways: Understand the role loved ones play in the recovery journey, learn real-life skills to support your loved one.

March 4 - In Their Shoes (hosted by Mobile Outreach) Increase understanding of the complex journeys and daily decisions those impacted by substance use make and how you can fit into their community of support.  Key Takeaways: increased empathy and compassion, improved awareness of support and local resources

March 18 - Understanding ACEs (hosted by GPCS Prevention) Learn about Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and the role they play in developing physical, mental, and behavioral problems throughout the life cycle. You will learn strategies for building individual and community wellness and resilience.
